System Architecture
A commercial & industrial (C&I) solar energy storage hybrid system integrates PV generation, battery energy storage system (BESS), grid connection, and diesel generator backup through a unified energy management system (EMS) to optimize power flow, reliability, and cost efficiency.
During daytime, the photovoltaic (PV) system generates clean electricity. Power is first supplied to on-site loads, while excess energy is stored in the lithium battery storage system via a hybrid inverter through DC-coupled or AC-coupled architecture. If solar generation exceeds demand and the battery is full, surplus power is exported to the utility grid.
At night or during low solar output, the system discharges stored energy from the energy storage battery to supply critical loads, enabling peak shaving, load shifting, and improved self-consumption. The grid-tied inverter system ensures seamless switching between solar, battery, grid, and generator power sources.
In case of grid outage, the system automatically switches to EPS (Emergency Power Supply) mode, maintaining uninterrupted power for essential industrial and commercial loads such as factories, cold storage, and critical equipment.
